WATERSHOT – founder/owner/director
“I have an intense fascination with wavelength, formation of light, reflection, shadow, shade – to use Earth’s naturally creative forces to garner colour to provide information - WATERSHOT.”
Dr. Andrew Taylor
I began my career in Space Science using radar to observe meteors, space probes around
the Solar System to detect meteoroids and telescopes on Earth to observe asteroids.
Recently I changed perspective, using satellites to look down on the country I grew up in.
From confirming the detection of road traffic in mid-resolution satellite imagery with school
children, to collaborating with space research professionals to investigate one of New
Zealand’s most polluted lakes, I take delight in sharing my expertise.
Exploiting data from diverse spacecraft missions to help improve the environment for local
communities in New Zealand is a developing passion. Analysing complex data streams to
help explain what is happening in the world around us is a core part of my identity.
